New Movies On Demand: ‘Suburbicon,’ ‘A Bad Moms Christmas,’ ‘Jigsaw’ And More

Lose your blues and kick off your Friday shoes, you’ve got a whole weekend of movie-watching ahead of you! The work week is almost over and the world is wide open. Wow! Not sure what’s out there to fill the next 48 hours of freedom? You’re in luck, because new flicks are available for you to stream every week. Whether you use Amazon VideoiTunesVudu or your cable’s on demand service, there are always a lot of new releases out there waiting for you to discover.

More of 2017’s most talked about movies are popping up on rental services, like the action-packed wild weather ride Geostorm. Not only can you rent that modern day Armageddon, you can also now rent the creepy Saw sequel Jigsaw. And if you’re in the mood for superheroes (come on, when are you not in the mood for superheroes?), you can check out the latest DC animated feature film Batman: Gotham By Gaslight. There’s so much to see this week!

What else can you buy or rent this week? Find out by taking a look at the collection of terrifying horror flicks, retro dramas, and raunchy comedies now available for you to enjoy from the comfort of your very own home!

Suburbicon

Matt Damon and Julianne Moore headline this hybrid thriller and comedy from director George Clooney. Set in 1959, the period piece directly deals with the integration of suburbs in the era of the civil rights movement, although whether or not the film deals with it well is up for you to decide. Critics were certainly iffy on it, despite the film’s all-star cast (Oscar Isaac is in this, too!) and a script from the Coen Brothers. If that makes you nervous about paying full price, you can definitely wait a few weeks and rent it on February 6.

A Bad Moms Christmas

Christmas ain’t over as far as VOD is concerned! Kristen Bell, Mila Kunis, and Kathryn Hahn are back as the Bad Moms (you remember them from their 2016 comedy hit, right?), and this time they’re all about the holidays. More specifically, they’re all about dealing with the arrival of their own bad moms (Christine Baranski, Cheryl Hines, and Susan Sarandon). Christmas comedy may be seasonal, but lord knows family stress is relevant all year round! Let this film liven up your weekend, especially if you haven’t gotten to taking down that Christmas tree yet…

The Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers

If you haven’t noticed yet, The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring just landed on Netflix. Whaaaat?! Whoaaaah! But once you’ve plowed through the three-hour start to that incredible journey, you’ll be bummed to see that the LotR sequels The Two Towers and The Return of the King are nowhere to be found on Netflix. If you’re looking to complete your marathon, you’ll have to venture to other digital realms. Fortunately the other 2/3rds of the trilogy are available to rent on iTunes for just under a dollar! Is it a hassle to jump over to another service? Sure. But are these beloved modern movie classics worth the $0.99? You bet they are.
