YouTube Red Comedy Series ‘Liza On Demand’ Sets Cast & Directors

YouTube Red’s new comedy series Liza on Demand has finalized its cast and set its director line-up with production underway in Los Angeles.

Eight-episode half-hour Liza on Demand is co-created and stars Liza Koshy and follows the chaotic misadventures that ensue as the eponymous character takes on various gigs, tasks and odd jobs in her quest to climb the ranks and become an “elite tasker.”

Added to the cast are Kimiko Glenn (Nerve, Orange is the New Black, Drunk History) and Travis Coles (By the Book, Superstore, Great News).

Directors for the series include Todd Biermann (Alone Together, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia), Anna Mastro (Shameless, The Bold Type, Lost Generation, Jane the Virgin), Heath Cullens (You’re the Worst, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia), and Deborah Kaplan & Harry Elfont (Josie and the Pussycats, Mary + Jane, Can’t Hardly Wait) – with Kaplan and Elfont also serving as writers and executive producers.

Koshy’s credits include Hulu’s Freakish, YouTube Red’s Jingle Ballin , feature Boo! a Madea Halloween and co-host of MTV’s TRL. Her two YouTube channels have a cumulative audience of more than 17.3 million subscribers and 1.5 billion-plus views.

Liza On Demand is being produced by Above Average, a digital-first entertainment company founded in 2012 by Lorne Michaels’ Broadway Video. Along with Koshy, Kaplan and Elfont, Courtney Carter is executive producer on the series, with Sam Childs serving as producer.

Liza On Demand is slated to premiere later this year on YouTube Red.
