Nicole Eggert Tells Dr. Oz About Her Teenage Relationship With Scott Baio: "He Knew It Was Illegal"
Nicole Eggert filed a police report on Tuesday against Scott Baio, less than two weeks after her allegations that her former Charles in Charge co-star sexually abused her while they were on the show together, when she was underage.
As confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter by authorities and by Eggert’s attorney, Lisa Bloom, Eggert met with detectives from the sexual assault unit at the Los Angeles police department, answering questions and telling her story. Eggert went public with accusations that Baio molested her beginning at age 14 and had sex with her before she reached the California age of consent, which is and was 18.
Bloom also related that Eggert and Baio’s Charles in Charge co-star, Alexander Polinsky, also spoke to detectives about the “inappropriate touching” he witnessed on set.
“We appreciate the Los Angeles police detectives’ interest in this case,” Bloom’s statement continued, “and we will fully cooperate with their investigation. Many have reached out to Nicole and me to say that they witnessed inappropriate behavior from Scott Baio when Nicole was underage. We provided a list of those names to the police. If anyone else has information about this matter please contact us.”
No additional information about the charges was provided by the police, including the specific allegation.
Eggert appeared on Megyn Kelly Today last week and told her story about Baio’s sexual misconduct towards her, including penetrating her when she was 14.
