If you’ve been watching since the second season dropped last month, you know that Netflix’s One Day at a Time is one of TV’s best and most heartwarming sitcoms. But the reality is, the people who make One Day at a Time would like it if there were more of you. As tweeted yesterday by Gloria Calderón Kellett, who co-developed the series as an updated adaptation of the original Norman Lear series from the ’70s and ’80s, there appears to be a big need for One Day at a Time to get a spike of viewers within the next few days.

The implications of such a passionate request seem clear: Netflix has yet to decide the fate of One Day at a Time, and if we want to guarantee a third season (and we better), now is the time to watch, and to convince our friends and family to watch as well. It’s also interesting that Kellett specifically mentions watching at least four episodes. Can we infer that four episodes (or two hours, since One Day is a half-hour comedy) is the minimum number of time spent watching a show that Netflix considers valuable? Could be something to keep in mind.

With that said, since Gloria found it necessary to ALL-CAPS her request, it must be serious, so let us echo: what she she said. Do it. Watch the first four episodes of One Day at a Time and let it wash over you. Marvel at the deft combination of comedy and topicality. Check out the episode that we’re calling an early contender for best TV episode of 2018. And most importantly, help keep a blazingly important and good TV show from an unfortunate fate. Do it!
