Woman Crush Wednesday: Shelley Hennig Is A 100% Certified Scene-Stealer

Wow do we love a good scene-stealer, and if you’ve seen When We First Met, you know that Shelley Hennig basically steals the whole show. Which is why we are proud to name her this week’s Woman Crush Wednesday.

WHO’S THAT GAL: Shelley Hennig

WHY WE’RE CRUSHING: The actress and former Miss Teen USA 2004 (you go girl!) is not only an accomplished performer, she’s also incredibly fun to watch. She’s racked up Daytime Emmy Award nominations for her work on Days of Our Lives, garnered laughs and a Teen Choice Award for her role on Teen Wolf, and most recently, been the absolute best part of a Netflix original rom-com. Opposite Adam Devine in When We First Met, Shelley’s character Carrie is so much more than just the best friend. She’s quirky and hilarious and hits her co-stars with a plant like no one else can. Her timing is impeccable, her physical comedy is on-point, and she easily emerges as the most interesting character in the film. Not too shabby!

The Louisiana native has made her mark in a variety of projects and has seen her career pick up steam with each new appearance on screens of all sizes. But if we’re being totally honest, and we always are, we love that she has an equally entertaining presence on social media, both Instagram and Twitter. Shelley’s proved she’s so much more than just an on-screen best friend, but we still like to believe she would totally be our bestie.

WHERE YOU’VE SEEN HER BEFORE: Many people might know Shelley best as Stephanie Johnson, the character she appeared as in nearly 470 episodes, on Days of Our Lives. In 2011, she landed the role of Diana Meade in The CW drama The Secret Circle, and joined the MTV family in 2013 for Zach Stone Is Gonna Be Famous. From there, she appeared in the films Unfriended, Ouija, and is currently in Roman J. Israel, Esq. with Denzel Washington. Viewers also know her as werewolf Malia Tate in MTV’s Teen Wolf, and she’s recently appeared in the go90 series Liberty Crossing. And if you need a Shelley fix tonight, you can see her in When We First Met on Netflix.

WHERE YOU’LL SEE HER AGAIN: Later this year, you can catch Shelley in the comedy The After Party, and from the name alone, plus the fact that she’s involved, it sounds like it’s going to be a very good time.
