Lady Bird

Writer/director Greta Gerwig grabbed all sorts of attention with this deeply personal true-to-life story about a girl searching for her place in the world (hopefully outside of Sacramento). Powered by the tense chemistry between Saoirse Ronan and Laurie Metcalf, Lady Bird struck a chord with pretty much everyone that had disagreements with their parents during their senior year of high school (so… that’s everyone?). This film won the Golden Globe for Best Comedy or Musical, and there’s a decent shot it could go home with Oscar gold. You have to pay full price to watch it now, but you will be able to rent it on February 27.

Coco

Pixar’s 2017 smash hit Coco continued their unmatched winning streak and caused every single audience member to shed plenty of tears. The film follows a young musician as he learns about his heritage while venturing into a magical realm. The film celebrates the traditional Mexican holiday of Day of the Dead and tells a universal story that will have your whole family laughing (and also crying, don’t forget the crying).

That Awkward Moment

This romcom didn’t get great reviews from critics back when it hit theaters in 2014, but with Black Panther mania sweeping the world, how could you pass up the opportunity to see more Michael B. Jordan? Jordan stars alongside Miles Teller and Zac Efron as three friends who make a vow to remain single out of solidarity with each other. That gets complicated when all three of them find women they’re interested in–and they have to keep these budding relationships secret from each other. A pact is a pact! If you’re looking for more MBJ, especially a role that isn’t as intense as Erik Killmonger, then this is for you!
