What better way to prepare for the fast-approaching weekend than by indulging in the some of the Internet’s most well-done web content? Take advantage of your lunch break and treat yourself to Afternoon Delight, Decider’s carefully curated picks of the best short-form content available on the world wide web. This week we’re spotlighting The Greatest Event in Television History, a truly epic short series starring some of your favorite names in comedy.

Six fateful years ago, Adult Swim brought together Adam Scott and various other wildly talented people for a series of four fifteen-minute specials titled The Greatest Event in Television History aired over the course of 2012-2014. So what exactly constitutes the actual greatest event in the history of television? Well, each episode acts as a mockumentary chronicling a the production of a shot-for-shot remake of a 1980s TV series opening credits sequence, ending with the remake itself. Hosted by Jeff Probst (yes, THAT Jeff Probst), each installment begins as convincingly as any other Hollywood special and slowly descends into uproarious madness.

During their quest to create the greatest event in television history, Scott and Co. recreate the opening sequences of series like Simon & SimonHart to HartToo Close for Comfort, and Bosom Buddies, and the road to the finished product is paved with treacherous obstacles. Jon Hamm just isn’t into Scott, Amy Poehler has a long-standing lack of respect for her Parks and Recreation co-star, and the 80s method acting of Paul Rudd is too much for most to handle. Just when you think it’s gotten star-studded enough, someone like Tom Hanks, Billy Joel, or Peter Scolari shows up. Pretty much anyone you’ve ever laughed at makes an appearance (and makes you laugh).

Whether you love mockumentaries, Paul Rudd, or ’80s television shows, there’s almost certainly something for you to dig in this seriously funny series. So what are you waiting for? These folks gave their all to create the (maybe, but probably not) greatest event in television history for your viewing pleasure. Watch The Greatest Event in Television History on Adult Swim.
