Drop Everything And Watch ‘Killing Eve’s Trailer, BBC America’s Sandra Oh Thriller

I have two words for you today: heck yeah. BBC America has just dropped the teaser trailer for Killing Eve, the network’s upcoming cat-and-mouse thriller starring Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer. If you’ve ever wanted a twisting, dramatic, female-led version of Sherlock, this may be the answer to your prayers.

Based on the novellas by Luke Jennings and written by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, the creator of the brilliant Fleabag and the British version of Crashing (which is unrelated to the HBO show), Killing Eve examines the relationship between a serial killer and the woman determined to bring her down. Sandra Oh (Grey’s Anatomy) plays Eve, a smart, pay-grade MI5 security officer whose bored with her desk job and longs to be a spy. Jodie Comer (The White Princess) plays her unconventional nemesis, a talented killer and sociopath who uses her wealth and beauty to lure in her victims. As the trailer teases, the pair play warped mind games crossing the lines between good and evil as Eve tries to prove that Villanelle is a killer. I never knew I wanted to see Sandra Oh take on a beautiful but deadly serial killer, but here we are.

The series also has some notable co-stars as well. Fiona Shaw (Harry Potter, True Blood) will play Carolyn Martens. Also, David Haig (Penny Dreadful) will star as as Eve’s colleague Bill, and Kim Bodnia (The Bridge) will play Konstantin.

The series was commissioned for BBC America by its President and General Manager, Sarah Barnett. Killing Eve is being produced by Sid Gentle Films Ltd., and Waller-Bridge will serve as the lead writer, showrunner, and executive producer fir the series. The show is executive produced by Sally Woodward Gentle and Lee Morris. Colin Wratten is also a producer for the project, and Sandra Oh is associate producing.

You can watch the tense teaser trailer, which covers Eve’s warped relationship with Villanelle, above. Killing Eve premieres Sunday, April 8 at 8/7c.
