Kelly Clarkson Sings A Wacky Google Translated Version Of ‘Stronger’ For Jimmy Fallon

God bless the world of silly song lyrics. Last night, Jimmy Fallon played one of his most delightful singing games with a bit of a musical legend — Kelly Clarkson. The two played a round of what I’m going to call Google Translate Karaoke, and it did not disappoint.

A regular segment on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Google Translate Songs takes popular American songs and runs them through the questionable machine that is Google Translate. The show then takes the lyrics that have been translated into a random language and turns them back into English. And thus a fun-filled game is born.

Jimmy Fallon went first, delivering an impassioned performance of Portugal the Man’s “Feel It Still”, also known by Google as “Live in the Boat.” Fallon was just as he always is, and The Roots handled the pop-infused and smooth beats beautifully. In fact, The Roots were so good (as they always are), they made Fallon’s butchered lyrics of “Hope I’ll shake the dirt / Bring the dirt into the cupboard” even funnier.

Next up was Kelly Clarkson with “Stronger”, also known as “Too Strong.” Clarkson gave it a valiant effort. You could tell that the singer really wanted to give the performance her all, but with such silly lyrics as “If you don’t kill it, offer a bribe / My legs are increasing” she didn’t stand a chance. Soon after she started the song, Clarkson was laughing too much to hold a note.

The pair then ended with a crazy rendition of Sonny and Cher’s “I Got You, Babe”, which was translated to “I Have Your Child.” The whole thing was a fun mess that you can watch above.
