After reports surfaced earlier this week about sexual misconduct allegations against Ryan Seacrest, stars began speaking out about his role as E!‘s red carpet host at the Oscars. While E! found insufficient evidence after investigating the claims against Seacrest and plan to keep him as red carpet host this Sunday evening, it’s likely that the drama isn’t over quite yet. Early buzz seems to be that stars will avoid Seacrest on the red carpet, but Oscars host Jimmy Kimmel thinks that we might be getting a little ahead of ourselves.

When asked by Variety if he would still be interviewed by Seacrest after the Oscars, Kimmel left no question about where he stood. “Of course I will,” Kimmel said. “Listen, you know, we should at the very least afford people the opportunity for truth, what the facts of the story are before hanging them out to dry.”

If the interview is on, then, will he discuss the allegations with Seacrest? Nope. “He’s interviewing me,” said Kimmel.

Kimmel has confirmed that movements like #TimesUp and #MeToo will play a role in the evening’s proceedings. “I can’t give you a percentage, but it’ll be a part of it.”

Based on the way this awards season is going, it’s bound to be a part of the red carpet too.
