Ryan Seacrest’s Oscar Coverage Snubbed By Hollywood’s Biggest Stars

Maybe E! is sticking by Ryan Seacrest, but it looks like Hollywood might not be.

Based on a sampling of multiple networks’ coverage, it looks like E! got snubbed big time at this year’s Oscars red carpet. Hollywood’s biggest stars seemed to skip the chance to chat with E!’s beleaguered host Ryan Seacrest, opting instead to chat with just ABC, smaller outlets, or no one at all.

Ryan Seacrest has been in the center of a recent media storm over allegations that he sexually harassed a long-time stylist. Even though E! investigated these charges and cleared Seacrest for duty, stylist Suzie Hardy went public with her allegations on Monday. On Friday, The New York Times reported that Aileen Gram-Moreno, a former E! red carpet producer, filed a complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission that claimed she was fired after 12 years with E! for allowing Golden Globes red carpet interviews that criticized the company to make it to air.

E! announced earlier this week that Seacrest would still host their red carpet coverage. However, Page Six reports that the broadcast comes with a 30 second delay… designed to save Seacrest’s butt. But as of publication, only Diane Warren, Miguel, Gael Garcia Bernal, Kelly Ripa and husband Mark Consuelos, Christopher Plummer, Andy Serkis, Donald Sutherland, Rita Moreno, Eiza Gonzalez, Mary J. Blige, Common, and Get Out stars Bradley Cooper, Betty Gabriel, and Lil Rey Howery gave Seacrest the time of day. For context, during the Golden Globes’s pre-show, E! got Meryl Streep, Kelly Clarkson, Natalie Portman, Reese Witherspoon, and tons of other big stars.

E!’s lackluster red carpet coverage did not go unnoticed.

It’s interesting to note that while Seacrest was chatting with the Get Out‘s supporting stars, ABC was interviewing the film’s leading lady, Alison Williams. And during Eiza Gonzalez’s interview, Sir Patrick Stewart and nominee Richard Jenkins were brandishing #TimesUp pins on ABC.

While early in the night, ABC’s local host commented on how many stars were breezing by (compared to past years), celebs did seem to show up for on-air interviews on ABC close to and after 7 PM ET. Chadwick Boseman, Tiffany Haddish, Viola Davis, Mira Sorvino and Ashley Judd, and Margot Robbie all chatted with ABC’s team. Some stars, like Haddish, even granted Seacrest an interview after ABC.

However, over on E!, one star took her air-time with Ryan Seacrest to make a…point. Taraji Henson gave Seacrest a sort of karmic warning mid-interview:

And if that wasn’t enough, multiple sources heard Henson express her frustration with Seacrest to the next interviewer in this way:
