Living legend Rita Moreno stole the show at tonight’s Academy Awards and reminded us what real class, elegance, and stardom is.

The 86-year-old Moreno is a celebrated star of stage and screen. She is one of the few recipients of the coveted “EGOT,” and won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her work in West Side Story back in 1961. Footage of Moreno’s spell-binding work in that musical film preceded her vampish entrance to present the award this year for Best Foreign Language Film. (And guys, did she vamp.)

Moreno was also the belle of the ball on the red carpet. The chic dress she wore tonight made waves because it was the same dress she wore all the way back when she won in 1962. And social media was loving it… They were loving the dress, they were loving the pose, they were loving everything that was RITA.

(Yes, that is footage of her downing champagne before taking the stage.)

Moreno received exactly the kind of joyous, fun, exultant welcome at the Oscars tonight that she was sorely lacking a few months ago at the Emmys. During Emmys night, Moreno was unceremoniously referred to as “guest” by The New York Times when she arrived — LIKE A BOSS — on a scooter with Norman Lear.

Moreno’s big night at the Oscars also couldn’t come at a better time. Right now, Moreno’s warm and wonderful sitcom, One Day At A Time, is up for renewal at Netflix. Want to see more of this living goddess? Then get streaming (and save that show)!
