For  movie lovers, the Academy Awards are the biggest night of the year. For TV viewers, the Oscars are also one of the longest nights of the year. This year’s epic runtime was packed with all the stuff you expect from an Oscar ceremony.

You got a topical monologue with some gentle celebrity ribbing (who knew Christopher Plummer would be the butt of so many jokes?). You got plenty of heartfelt speeches from first time winners (it’s about time, Allison Janney!). And you got musical numbers and montages galore (the Oscars were the original home of the supercut).

But not every moment of the 90th Oscars was one we’d seen before. Far from it! After all, you gotta hope there’d be more than a few spectacular moments in a nightlong presentation. Was anything as WTF as last year’s big Best Picture mix-up? No, thankfully! We need to live in a world where the Oscars are predictably unpredictable, not total chaos. Tonight’s biggest moments were all over the map, including an octogenarian EGOT and some real big envelopes.

If you missed the awards or peaced out early, here are the 10 moments that made the 90th Academy Awards memorable.
