John Cena is pretty much an ideal talk-show guest. He’s a pro wrestler with a particular gift for the microphone, so you know he’s quick and snappy. He’s also a huge musclebound mountain of a man who is not at all shy about looking silly for the sake of comedy. This is why he’s done such a good job of pushing his way into the movie business. So when he was on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last night to promote hosting the Kids Choice Awards on Nickelodeon, and the upcoming theatrical film Blockers, and WrestleMania, and the VOD release of Ferdinand where he voices the title character, Cena was game for pretty much everything.

Cena let Fallon try his hand at fantasy-booking his WrestleMania storyline, and he later participated in the latest iteration of Fallon’s recurring sketch “Ew!” where Jimmy and the dude guest du’jour dress up like teenage girls and are annoying for 6 to 8 minutes. But the unquestioned highlight of this appearance was when Fallon passed on a dance move to Cena that was taught to him by none other than Madonna.

Cena was talking about his upcoming wedding and how he’s nervous because he doesn’t know how to dance. Fallon kind of glosses over how surprising it is that a man of as many talents as Cena can’t dance (what kind of triple-threat are you??) before offering a kind of pre-wedding gift: a dance move taught to him by none other than Madonna. She taught the move to Jimmy during an interview he conducted with her as she was promoting her MDNA album in 2012.

Cena isn’t super great at the move at first, we will fully admit. For one thing, his pants are just too tight for him to properly squat down as this move requires. But no dance was ever perfected without practice. We believe in you, John Cena. Go get your Madonna on.
