Stream It Or Skip It: 'Conan O'Brien Must Go' On Max, Where Conan Hilariously Surprises His Fans That Live Overseas
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has been on the late night tour for the last few weeks to promote his upcoming movie Rampage, but last night on Conan, things got a little more physical than he may have been expecting.
In a taped segment, host Conan O’Brien convinced The Rock that he has what it takes to become his stunt double for Rampage, even going so far as putting on a bald cap and a matching outfit to really get into character. “I just want to show you I can do it, because I know you question my physicality,” O’Brien assured him. “But that was your first mistake, and you don’t get a second chance,” he continued, trying (and failing) to keep up with The Rock’s level of intensity.
Once in costume, O’Brien fully committed himself to the role. He was thrown over a table filled with glass beakers in a science lab — three times — and was attacked by a man in a gorilla suit to simulate the CGI gorilla in Rampage. “I wanted to do some stunt scenes to show you that I could work with George and fit into the movie Rampage with my stunt work,” O’Brien told The Rock. But ultimately, it was the gorilla beating was too much for O’Brien, who had to tap out after one too many hits with a baseball bat.
