Someone Spliced Tommy Wiseau’s Joker Audition Into ‘The Dark Night’ And It’s Absolutely Hilarious

While this has all most likely been one big joke, we can’t get enough of Tommy Wiseau’s recent faux Joker audition tape. As you know, The Room mastermind and The Disaster Artist subject had asked Todd Phillips to DM him on Twitter last month regarding the role in Phillips’ upcoming Joker origin film. While Joaquin Phoenix seems to remain the lead choice for the part, Wiseau’s reel certainly presents an interesting new angle.

In light of Wiseau’s recent audition tape, which went viral (as to be expected), someone on YouTube took it upon themselves to splice the clip with footage from The Dark Night and the results are absolutely hilarious. You can watch the clip below.

In the clip, Wiseau screams the famous “why so serious?” line with a level of acting prowess that only a true film legend could achieve, speaks sarcastically to Christian Bale’s Batman, delivers a number of eerie laughs and firmly declares “I’m a Joker and joke is on you! Yeah!”

Phillips will co-write the forthcoming movie with Scott Silver, as well as direct, and has reportedly been in talks with Phoenix since late last year, so Tommy’s future as the joker is, unfortunately, not looking too bright. Jared Leto, who was the last actor to play the role in WB’s Suicide Squad, will not be featured in this film.

The brand new film could potentially fall under a yet-to-be-announced new banner of DC Comics that would give rise to a whole new set of original storylines (starting with this one). Sources are saying that Phillips’ story will take place in the ’80s and will take the form of a gritty crime drama, rather than your typical comic-book movie.

As to whether Tommy will get the chance to play the part? We highly doubt it but stranger things have happened.
