The Walking Dead Executive Producer and effects guru Greg Nicotero promised a naked zombie, and in last night’s episode, he delivered.
Ahead of the show’s return, Nicotero told Entertainment Weekly, viewers could look forward to the fact that “We did our first fully nude walker. We’ve never done that before.”
He teased the appearance of a naked zombie even more on Talking Dead last month, saying, “Clearly you can’t tell if it’s a male or female, because there’s some bite marks, strategically placed.” He also offered, “This person died very painfully,” and pointed out that it would be a tribute to one of his favorite films, Night of the Living Dead.
So did you happen to catch the naked zombie last night? Probably not, as it wandered by in the background during a scene featuring Dwight (Austin Amelio) and Simon (Steven Ogg) strategizing in front of Negan’s (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) totally torched car. But if your eyes weren’t quite peeled at the moment, and we get it, there was a lot going on, Nicotero shared this clear shot of the clothes-free walker.
And…he was right, no genitals in sight!
