For eight seasons the Halliwell sisters from Charmed cast an enchantment spell on TV viewers. The Charmed Ones used their “Power of Three” to save lives and thwart demons while trying their best to live normal lives. Spoiler alert: It rarely worked.

Phoebe, Piper, Prue, and (later) Paige may have retired their cauldron for good in 2006, but Jane the Virgin creator Jennie Snyder Urman has bewitched executives over at The CW into resurrecting the beloved franchise for yet another run. That’s right, Charmed is the latest ’90s show to get the reboot treatment. The new episodes will revolve around three sisters in a college town who discover they are witches. Supernatural shenanigans will undoubtedly ensue as the battle of good vs. evil continues.

It doesn’t matter if you watched every single episode of the original series or were more of a casual fan who enjoyed a Semi-Charmed Life, we have everything you need to know about the exciting CW reboot of this WB favorite.

WHO’S BEEN CAST AS THE NEW TRIO OF SISTERS?

The witchy women set to star on the CW reboot are Madeleine Mantock (Into the Badlands, The Tomorrow People), Melonie Diaz (Fruitvale Station, The First Purge), and Sarah Jeffery (Shades of Blue, Descendants: Wicked World). Mantock will portray the eldest sister, Macy, a practical geneticist who will lead her younger sisters as they “tear down the patriarchy.”

Diaz will play a lesbian activist named Mel, while Jeffery stars as the youngest witch, Madison, an aspiring sorority sister.

IN WHAT ERA DOES THE REBOOT TAKE PLACE?

Variety reports that the reboot was originally set to take place in the 1970s, but those plans were nixed. The Charmed reboot will take place in the present day.

HAS ANYONE ELSE BEEN CAST FOR THE CHARMED REBOOT?

You bet. Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle actor Ser’Darius Blain has been cast as aspiring filmmaker Gavin, a character described as “funny, mellow, and in touch with his emotions.”

Deadline reports that Charlie Gillespie (Degrassi: Next Class, Speed Kills) and newcomer Ellen Tamaki have also joined the cast. Gillespie will portray Brian, Madison’s (Jeffery) high school boyfriend who still carries a torch for her, while Tamaki will play Nico, a detective whose romantic relationship with one of the sisters complicates her investigation.

WILL THE NEW TRIO OF LADIES HAVE ANY CONNECTION TO THE ORIGINAL HALLIWELL SISTERS?

All the sorcery in the world can’t conjure up an answer to that question. There’s no word on whether or not the new sisters will have any connection to the Halliwell clan.
