This Dave Chappelle ‘Jeopardy!’ Clue Had Viewers Cracking Up

There are few things quite as delightful as watching Alex Trebek read a ridiculous clue on Jeopardy!. Whether it’s a hip new song that just doesn’t sound right coming out of his mouth, a niche reference even he doesn’t fully understand, or a particularly dirty joke, the host has truly seen (and read) it all. Last night, however, we may have reached peak-Jeopardy clue. Viewers of the show were beside themselves when Trebek read out the $1000 question for ‘Must “C” TV’.

“Crack addict Tyrone Biggums was a recurring character on this sketch comedy series,” read Trebek. Regis jumped right in and answered “what is Chappelle’s Show“, correctly identifying Dave Chappelle‘s sketch comedy show that aired on Comedy Central from 2003-2006.

While Regis’ answer was right and they moved on quickly, Twitter users just couldn’t handle the seriousness with which Dave Chappelle’s beloved crackhead Tyrone Biggums, perhaps best known for his white lips, constant scratching, and love of the phrase “SHAZAM!”, had been referenced.

If you need us, we’ll be listening to Alex Trebek say “crack addict Tyrone Biggums” on a loop.
