Roseanne Barr Flips Off Kimmel During Heated Late Night Interview

Welcome back to television, Roseanne. The creator and star of ABC’s beloved working class sitcom, Roseanne Barr, has always been known for her fiery interviews. Though the last season of Roseanne ended roughly 20 years ago, last night Barr proved that she can still live up to her reputation during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Kimmel‘s interview with Barr and John Goodman started peacefully enough. When the late night host asked what it was like returning to the ABC set, both actors talked about how weird it was. “It was like a wormhole or something,” Barr said.

However, it didn’t take long for the conversation to turn to politics. As Decider has covered before, the Roseanne reboot features a divided political household with Roseanne the character standing as an adamant Trump supporter. When asked why the show made that decision, Barr said the show wanted to capture families who have been divided by politics. “It’s like everybody’s family is pissed off at each other for one thing or the other,” she said.

This soon led to Kimmel asking about one of Barr’s favorite topics — Hillary Clinton. After pointing out that Barr and Clinton used to be close friends, Kimmel brought up the time Barr tweeted that Clinton was a murderer. The comedian was quick to deny it, and while Kimmel was searching for his proof, she yelled, “I deleted it, so fuck you!” while giving the late night host the bird.

After that outburst, any assumptions of late night decorum flew out the window as Barr let the curse words fly. At one point Kimmel made a comment about Trump‘s failures, which prompted Barr to yell, “Are you shitting me? You want Pence? You want Pence for the president? Well then zip that fucking lip.”

In the end the pair reached an unsteady agreement. “It’s up to us to make this government work no matter who’s president,” Barr concluded to audience applause.

The clip is absolutely worth watching at least twice — one for Barr’s freak out and a second time for John Goodman’s giggling reaction. You can watch the video above.
