Colbert Suggests Trump’s Chief of Staff Should Give Him A Spanking

It didn’t take long for the late night comedy scene to weigh-in on Anderson Cooper’s buzzy 60 Minutes interview with Stormy Daniels. Many revelations were brought to light during Cooper’s Sunday night conversation with the adult film actress. From innocent details like the two watching Shark Week to more serious specifics like Daniels being threatened in a parking lot to keep quiet about her interactions with Trump, the hotly-anticipated interview was certainly a must-see affair (at least according to the ratings).

On last night’s episode of the Late Show, Stephen Colbert took aim at one of the more salacious details surrounding Stormy’s alleged sexual affair with Trump: the spanking.

“It’s an insane, salacious tale about a sitting president, and the least surprising story I’ve ever heard,” Colbert quipped.

Daniels told Cooper that during their affair she took a magazine featuring Trump on the cover, made Donald drop his pants, and “gave him a couple of swats.”

“From that moment on he was a completely different person,” Daniels told Anderson. “He quit talking about himself. He asked me things; I asked him things. It just became more appropriate.”

Colbert couldn’t resist the low hanging fruit.

“Hmm. A couple of spanks and Donald Trump started acting more appropriate,” the host said, smirking. “John Kelly, you know what to do. It’s for your country.”
