When you play the Game of Thrones, you win or you die. The latter has been true more often than not for characters on the HBO fantasy drama, but what of the folks whose fates have been left up in the air? The series has typically tied up its loose ends pretty well – we’ve been reunited with side characters like Gendry after several seasons – but there is one man we haven’t encountered since Season 6 – and probably won’t encounter again.

Edmure Tully (Tobias Menzies), Catelyn Stark’s brother and one of the few survivors of the Red Wedding, was last known to be imprisoned by Walder Frey, even after Arya’s brutal takedown of the Frey clan. While a minor character, he still holds a pretty large amount of significance in the story, but it looks like Thrones might be tired of Tully. Per Digital Spy, Menzies thinks that we’ve probably seen poor Edmure for the last time. When the star of The Terror and Outlander was asked about whether or not he’d return for the series’ final season, set to premiere next year, he seemed to be in the dark – just like the rest of us.

“The honest answer is, I have no idea. He’s obviously somewhere in a prison, he’s still around alive somewhere. They’re pretty stingy with their information and I’ve not heard anything from them,” he said. The season is currently shooting, so we can’t help but think that Edmure is probably done on Game of Thrones. “I feel like they have so many stories to tie up, whether that’s a story they’ll want to go back to, I don’t know.”
