When Will Season 3 of ‘A Series of Unfortunate Events’ Come Out?

One of the most dastardly, intelligent, and dreadful shows to ever exist has finally returned to television. This past weekend Netflix’s premiered Season 2 of A Series of Unfortunate Events. The second installment of the Baudelaire children’s dark adventures is even sharper, smarter, and more thrilling than the show’s strong first season, and it ends on a twist far more upsetting than anything Season 1 produced. Naturally, this has led all lovers of morbidity to wonder: when will Season 3 premiere?

Netflix has already announced that it plans on producing three seasons of the series, all of which closely follow the books. Consider this your guide to why Season 3 will be the show’s last, what we can expect to happen in this upcoming season, and when fans of adventuring orphans may need to mark their calendars for Season 3.

Is there going to be a Season 3 of A Series of Unfortunate Events?

Yes. Netflix announced that there would be three seasons of the series in April of 2017, just a few months after the show’s first season premiered.

Why will the show end after Season 3?

From its very first episode, Mark Hudis and Barry Sonnenfeld’s dark comedy has been dedicated to following Lemony Snicket’s (Daniel Handler) original novels as closely as possible. Every Snicket book has been adapted into two episodes, with the first season covering four of Snicket’s books, Season 2 covering five books, and the final season adapting the remaining four books. In short, the series will be ending because it’s running out of its incredible source material.

What will happen in A Series of Unfortunate Events Season 3?

There are now only four books left in Snicket’s insightful epic: The Slippery SlopeThe Grim GrottoThe Penultimate Peril and The EndIf you can’t wait for Season 3 to premiere, you can (and should) head to your local bookstore to pick up the original novels.

When will Season 3 premiere?

We don’t have an official premiere date, but the premiere dates of Seasons 1 and 2 can clue us in to when we may be able to expect Season 3. The first season of A Series of Unfortunate Events premiered on January 13, 2017, and Season 2 came out on March 30, 2018.
