Benedict Cumberbatch’s New Movie ‘The Child in Time’: How To Stream For Free

Heads up, Benedict Cumberbatch fans! There’s a new movie starring the Sherlock and Dr. Strange star for you to watch–and it’s coming to you for free courtesy of PBS!

The film is The Child in Time, BBC’s adaptation of the 1987 Ian McEwan novel of the same name. Cumberbatch stars as Stephen Lewis, a children’s author struggling to stay afloat in the years after the disappearance of his daughter. He’s estranged from his wife (Kelly Macdonald) and his friends have moved on. PBS’ official description says The Child in Time “explores the dark territory of a marriage devastated, the loss of childhood, the fluidity of time, grief, hope and acceptance.” So get ready for an emotionally intense evening with Benedict!

The film premiered on BBC One last September and has now made its way to the United States via PBS, which has announced that the full movie is available to stream online–but only for a limited time!

Judging by the show’s page, it looks like The Child in Time will be available to stream until April 15 at 11:55 p.m. ET, so you have a few weeks to get this watched. And if you’re still craving some Cumberbatch after that, don’t worry! Avengers: Infinity War opens on April 27, although his role in that film as Dr. Strange is no doubt quite different from what he’s serving in The Child in Time.
