Starz Cancels ‘Ash Vs Evil Dead’ After 3 Seasons

There will be no fourth season for Starz’s Ash Vs Evil Dead.

The premium cabler has opted not to move forward with a Season 4, and the Season 3 finale on April 29 will serve as the series finale.

“Ash v Evil Dead
has taken audiences on a wild ride for three seasons thanks to the fantastic performances and creative efforts of Sam, Bruce, Rob and the entire cast and crew. We are proud to send the show out with a bang…and a splat,” said Carmi Zlotnik, President of Programming for Starz.

Star Bruce Campbell also tweeted his farewell to “the role of a lifetime.”

The gore-filled Evil Dead follow-up starred Campbell as Ash Williams, the chainsaw-wielding anti-hero tasked with saving the world from evil; Lucy Lawless was Ruby, his unpredictable foe and occasional ally who has strong ties to the origin of the Necronomicon; Ray Santiago was Pablo Simon Bolivar, Ash’s loyal sidekick and eternal optimist; and Dana DeLorenzo as Kelly Maxwell, orphaned in Season 1 and ready to kick some evil ass.

In the now-final third season Ash’s status in Elk Grove, MI, changed from murderous urban legend to humanity-saving hometown hero. When Kelly witnessed a televised massacre with Ruby’s fingerprints all over it, she returned with a new friend to warn Ash and Pablo that evil wasn’t done with them yet.

Original Evil Dead filmmakers Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert and Campbell served as executive producers on Season 3 along with Ivan Raimi and Rick Jacobson. Mark Verheiden served as showrunner with producer Moira Grant.
