Coco is coming to Netflix! If you’ve been counting down the days till you can cry in the comfort in your own home to the sweet melodies of Disney’s Academy Award-winning animated feature, you’ll be delighted to know that the film will soon arrive on Netflix. Thanks to the ever-fruitful deal cut with Disney in 2016, Coco will be available for endless streams (well, until the Disney streaming service launches) at the end of May.

Is the movie Coco on Netflix?

Update: As of today (May 29, 2018), Coco is now streaming on Netflix!

No, not as of today, but you will be able to stream Disney/Pixar’s Coco on Netflix starting Tuesday, May 29, 2018 (at 3 AM ET).

Directed by Lee Unkrich (Monsters, Inc.Finding NemoToy Story 3), Disney•Pixar’s breathtaking film tells the story of Miguel, a 12-year-old boy with music in his soul (despite it being forbidden by his family) who is accidentally transported to the Land of the Dead. There, he seeks the help of his deceased musician great-great-grandfather to help return him to his living family – and find out why music is banned in his family. A gorgeous, poignant tribute to family, tradition, and love, Coco is a compelling, moving watch for viewers young and old (and explores death in a way few children’s films ever come close to).

Whether you’ve seen the film before or you’re readying for your first viewing, this love letter to Mexico will take you on a journey through every single emotion you’re capable of. You will laugh. You will clutch your heart. You will drop your jaw at the stunning visuals. You will need tissues. Nostalgic about your childhood? Tissues. Passionate about your dreams? Tissues. Missing loved ones no longer with us? Tissues. Easily moved by beautiful music? Tissues. This might sound like an emotional roller coaster you’re hesitant to take, but it may very well be one of the best (and most fulfilling) films Pixar has ever produced. It took home the Academy Awards for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song! How can you resist? (Don’t resist. You can thank us later.)

Here’s hoping the next few weeks fly by and Coco is soon in your arms again… Remember May (29).
