Thanks to Netflix, a whole new generation of viewers are becoming better acquainted with the affable group of coffee-loving Gen Xers from Central Perk. The cast of Friends may have danced in their final fountain in 2004, but a whole new subset of fans are only now discovering “We were on a break!,” “He’s her lobster,” and “PIVOT!” as they binge all ten seasons of this enduring ’90s sitcom. Thanks to Google Trends — a public extension of Google that tracks, categorizes, and displays public search data — we can explore the topics and questions people are asking about a specific topic. The data is constantly changing, so even though I searched through a variety of different time periods (from as recent as one day ago to as far back as five-years ago), the results are in a constant slate of flux. As Grammy Award-winner Sheryl Crow once said, “Everyday is a winding road.”

Who are the breakout characters? Which episodes do fans still want to learn more about? Why are multiple people searching “How many claps are in the Friends theme song?” Let’s take a deep dive into the Google data and answer the 25 most frequently asked questions about Friends.

IS THERE A FRIENDS MOVIE 2018? WHEN IS THE FRIENDS MOVIE 2018 RELEASE DATE? IS THE FRIENDS MOVIE REAL?

Many of the questions from Google Trends had to do with a fake Friends reunion movie trailer from January.
