Who Is Katja Herbers? Meet The Lady Fighting The Tiger On ‘Westworld’

Last night’s all-new episode of Westworld, “Virtù e Fortuna” opened with a look at a whole new world. “The Raj” is a decidely tamer park than Westworld. Taking guests to the height of British colonialism in India, it’s opulent and “civilized.” The only real violent delights here seem to be found in kinky bedroom games and a robotic tiger hunt. It’s here that we meet a brand new (yet) unnamed character played by Katja Herbers.

Herbers plays a savvy guest to The Raj who has grown seemingly bored of the typical park attractions. She makes a steamy connection with another guest and later finds herself the lone survivor of the host uprising in her section of the park. That robot tiger? Yeah, she’s got to fight it off. She fights it off all the way off a cliff.

But who is actress Katja Herbers? Where have you seen her before? And will you see her on Westworld again?

Who is Katja Herbers?

Katja Herbers is a 37-year-old Dutch actress who has been slowly but surely conquering American television. In the Netherlands, she’s best known for her work on the show Divorce, but she’s also got some huge theater credentials. In 2014, she came to America and starred in WGN’s vastly underrated gem Manhattan. Herbers played Dr. Helen Prins, the lone female scientist on a ragtag team devoted to developing the first atomic bomb. Helen started off in the series as a supporting character, and soon she was thrust into the center of the drama.

You can follow her on Twitter or Instagram.

Where Else Have I Seen Her?

After Manhattan was canceled, Herbers stayed in the states and worked on a number of prestigious TV projects. She had guest roles on The Americans and The Leftovers, and a key supporting role in Manhunt: Unabomber.

Will She Be Back On Westworld?

We can safely say yes. Though her character is new to the series, Herbers was hired as a series regular. So you can expect to see her pop up and probably collide with some of the other lost souls roaming around Westworld and its neighboring parks…
