The most recent season of The Bachelor was pretty controversial/infuriating from the get go. Fittingly, the season finale was the most frustrating and awkward of pretty much every Bachelor finale, when Arie Luyendyk Jr. did the unthinkable and called off his engagement to Becca after the final rose ceremony. That move shocked and enraged every Bachelor viewer–including Oscar winner and all-around movie star Charlize Theron.
Theron got to go in hard on Arie while chatting with Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live, and y’all, she did not hold back. Theron said Becca “is so much better off” because Luyendyk was “not impressive. Not impressed with him at all.” Theron has total faith in Becca as the next star of The Bachelorette, and she praised how Becca handled what Theron called “the most awkward watching experience of my life. It was just brutal and she just kept it together and had integrity about it.”
And how did Arie come out looking? Theron went off: “And he just looked like a fucking dick!”
“I just couldn’t get past his, like, ‘Do you wanna talk about it?'” said Theron, adopting a faux sensitive voice. “Like, no motherfucker! She doesn’t want to talk about it! Just leave already!”
Theron may be a millionaire, advocate, and accomplished actress, but this star really is just like us: she has feelings about The Bachelor and she’s not afraid to go all Atomic Blonde about it. Is there any way to carve out some time in Theron’s packed schedule to do a weekly Bachelorette podcast?
