‘Lost Boys’ Actress Jami Gertz Was The Star Of The NBA Draft Lottery

There was a lot of excitement on Twitter last night over the NBA Draft Lottery, and little of that excitement had to do with the fact that the Phoenix Suns won the first overall pick.

Because the even more fun discovery of the night was that actress Jami Gertz served as the team representative for the Atlanta Hawks. She’s been married to businessman Tony Ressler since 1989, who became principal owner of the Hawks in 2015.

Gertz is best known for her roles in films such as The Lost Boys, Less Than Zero, Jersey Girl, and Twister, but last night she became known as the gal who secured the number 3 pick for her team in the draft. The Hawks also have the No. 19 and No. 30 picks as well.

While the actress has also appeared on This Is Us, Modern Family, and Entourage, seeing her last night lit up Twitter with happiness. The Hawks even shared a video of her prep where she shared she was feeling lucky and even revealed that she’d attached a red ribbon around her bra to give her “the best mojo” for the occasion.

If Gertz can channel that luck again for draft night, we could be seeing a solid Hawks team next season — and of course, a lot more enthusiasm on Twitter, too.
