Roku Channel Partners With Showtime, Others To Offer Free Content For National Streaming Day

In case you didn’t already know, we’re approaching Decider’s favorite holiday, National Streaming Day. This year, the annual holiday will take place on Sunday, May 20th, so you’ll have plenty of time to binge all of the shows and movies you want thanks to The Roku Channel. The streaming platform has partnered with Showtime among other networks and apps to offer you free ad-supported streaming content, early, in celebration of the upcoming holiday.

The main attraction, which is Showtime’s original series Ray Donovan, Billions, and The Affair, are all streaming their first seasons in full directly on the Roku platform. All you have to do is press play on the home screen to access the collection. EPIX is also streaming Season 1 of its celebrated original series Get Shorty. FOX Now is offering a free single episode of The Four, Love Connection, and Beat Shazam.

Other networks that have partnered with Roku for the event include Smithsonian, History Channel, PeopleTV, Lifetime and A&E, each with free episodes and/or full length features, including Michael Jackson: Searching For Neverland and Britney Ever After. For you nature buffs out there, you can pop on some Arabian Seas, Guardians of the Wild, and Casey Anderson’s Wild Tracks.

So if you’re a cord-cutter who is looking to binge some totally free content this weekend and join in on the National Streaming Day celebrations, head to your Roku to access the selection for a limited time. If you don’t have a Roku but have Amazon Prime, you can currently order a Roku Express for just $29.88 and have it delivered by tomorrow with free one-day shipping. You can also check out Roku.com for up to $15 off on select Roku streaming players.
