This Bad Lip Reading Of The Royal Wedding Might Be More Entertaining Than The Real Thing

The Bad Lip Reading web series is one of those that you likely watch in your cubicle, with your headphones on, giggling or guffawing to the point where co-workers start to wonder about your sanity. Whether it’s football sideline footage, or events like the inauguration, the folks at BLR have the process of matching funny lines to lip movements down pat.

Which is why I was much more interested in watching BLR’s treatment of the latest Royal Wedding, between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, than in watching the real thing.

The funniest parts of the video are, of course, the parts where news coverage microphones were banned, like when Harry and his brother William were looking around before Markle entered, nervously talking to each other about something or other. BLR thought that not only did the brothers compare notes on how many animals they’ve hunted, but William said “we’re just puppets, you know.”

And even though Reverend Michael Curry’s speech during the ceremony was widely praised, we prefer the BLR version, where he talks about falling into a coffin and eating hot dogs.

It’s too bad Harry’s dad, Prince Charles, or grandparents, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, kept mostly silent during the ceremony, because BLR could have had a field day with any of those blue bloods watching Curry’s speech or the Baptist choir bring the house down.

And, by the way, don’t think we all weren’t doing exactly what the BLR folks were doing during the ceremony. Think about it: How many of us were praying that Harry said “I’m shitting it” to Meghan when she joined him at the end of the aisle?
