Last Friday, Part 5 of The Ranch finally premiered on Netflix. We won’t get into the specifics of the new season (although there are spoilers below), but after the events of the Part 5 finale, many fans are wondering when they can expect to see Part 6 premiere on Netflix.

The Netflix sitcom is going to look a lot different when it returns. Danny Masterson’s Rooster won’t be back for Part 6, while Dax Shepard has joined the cast in a limited capacity (reportedly five episodes). Shepard, who previously worked with Ranch star Ashton Kutcher on the MTV prank show Punk’d, will portray Luke Matthews, a former soldier who becomes friendly with Colt and Beau Bennett.

HOW DID PART 5 END? HOW WAS ROOSTER WRITTEN OFF THE RANCH?

Part 5 ends with Colt taking control of the Peterson ranch, but the big news of the season dealt with the exit of actor Danny Masterson.

In Part 5, Rooster and Mary (Megyn Price) rekindle their romance. The only problem? Mary is already in a relationship with her ex-husband, the shady ex-con Nick (Josh Burrow). Eventually, Nick finds out about Rooster and Mary’s affair, and in Episode 9, he breaks into Rooster’s cabin and threatens to kill him. In the Season 3 finale, Nick once again surprises Rooster at his home, but this time he has a gun.

Nick tosses an army bag at Rooster’s feet and delivers an ultimatum.

“You got two choices: Either take that bag and disappear or you can just disappear.”

Fearing for the safety of his family, Rooster leaves.

HAS THE RANCH BEEN RENEWED FOR PART 6?

Yep. Last July, Netflix announced that the show had been renewed for 20 more episodes. The first ten were Part 5, and the next ten will be Part 6. Plus, the series was recently renewed for Season 4 (Parts 7 and 8).

When does the next season of The Ranch come out? Well, it’s a little early for Netflix to announce an exact premiere date for Part 6, but we generally have a pretty good idea of when new episodes of The Ranch are set to drop. First, let’s take a look at the premiere dates for the first five installments:

Season 1 Part 1 premiered on April 1, 2016.
Season 1 Part 2 premiered on October 7, 2016.
Season 2 (Part 3) premiered on June 16, 2017.
Season 2 (Part 4) premiered on December 15, 2017.
Season 3 (Part 5) premiered on June 15, 2018.

With those dates in mind, we’d expect Part 6 of The Ranch to hit Netflix in December of 2018.
