If you can’t get enough cooking shows and your preferred method of viewing is the binge, then Netflix’s recent interest in food-based programming has to have won you over. Sure, The Food Network is great, but can you watch all of those shows whenever you want to, all at once? No! Netflix, which has found success with reality/cooking shows like Nailed It! and Ugly Delicious, has become a go-to spot for culinary pop culture. And that’s gonna continue with the launch of Sugar Rush.

What is Sugar Rush?

Netflix describes Sugar Rush as follows: “Time’s the most important ingredient as competitive teams race against the clock to bake up the best-tasting sweets.” So imagine Nailed It! but with actual bakers that know what they’re doing and probably half (or less!) time to knock out sweet treats. Really it’s all there in the name! This is Sugar Rush!

Who is on Sugar Rush?

Every cooking competition show has to have judges, and they have to have a host. In the host slot is Hunter March, a familiar face for anyone who watches the Game Show Network (specifically the show he hosts, Emogenius).

Netflix

For judges, Sugar Rush has Adriano Zumbo and Candace Nelson. Zumbo is an Australian chef known for hosting another cooking show on Netflix, Zumbo’s Just Desserts. The cooking competition show from Down Under arrived on Netflix last October, and now there’s more Zumbo on the way on Sugar Rush. Nelson will be familiar to American audiences from her time as a judge on Cupcake Wars. She’s also credited with kicking off the cupcake craze, so, you know, she definitely knows a thing or thirty about baking.

When does Sugar Rush come out?

Season 1 of Sugar Rush will rush onto Netflix on July 13. So you don’t have to wait too much longer! Until then, you can occupy yourself with the new season of Nailed It! (which arrives on Netflix on June 29) or by rewatching Zumbo’s Just Desserts. Sugar Rush will be here before you know it!
