Is ‘This Film Is Not Yet Rated’ On Netflix?

Kirby Dick’s documentary This Film is Not Yet Rated first premiered during the 2006 Sundance Film Festival. Featuring interviews with Darren Aronofsky, Kevin Smith, and Matt Stone (among many others), the film centers on the American movie ratings board and its effect on American culture. The movie shines the brightest of lights on a wide array of disparities different filmmakers receive in both ratings and feedback while also employing a private investigator to learn more about who exactly makes up the MPAA’s mysterious Appeals Board.

Ironically enough, Kirby’s movie originally received the dreaded NC-17 rating. The director’s deliberations with the MPAA were then woven into the narrative of the film.
