Emmy Nominations 2018: See The Full List Of Nominees

After months of waiting, the Emmy nominations are finally here, courtesy of announcers Samira Wiley and Ryan Eggold. This year in television was unique for many reasons, but particularly because a few veteran winners didn’t air new episodes during the Emmy year, rendering them ineligible to compete for the 2018 awards. Veep (the Best Comedy winner for the past three years) and its star, perennial Best Actress in a Comedy winner Julia Louis-Dreyfus, are bowing out of this year’s awards, creating a major opening for a new comedy queen. On the male side of the bracket, Jeffrey Tambor‘s departure from Transparent  (and Amazon’s decision not to submit his performance for Emmy consideration) gives newbies like Barry‘s Bill Hader and The Good Place‘s Ted Danson a chance to break into the race.

Last year, Hulu‘s The Handmaid’s Tale made history when it became the first streaming show to win Best Drama. Will streaming — and The Handmaid’s Tale — reign supreme again this year? Critics are split over Handmaid’s Season 2 (especially after its shocking season finale), and the Hulu drama faces some tough competition from rival NetflixThe CrownStranger ThingsOzark, and Mindhunter are all in the running for Best Drama, so it’s highly likely that Netflix will nab at least two noms in the category.

In the Best Comedy race, a few freshman series will fight to take down the superb second season of Donald Glover‘s Atlanta. Has the buzz surrounding Golden Globe-winner The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel lasted long enough to propel it to victory? The Amazon series will certainly get a nomination, but it will likely face stiff competition from frequent nominees like black-ishSilicon Valley, and Modern Family (how is this show still getting nominated?).

The 70th Emmy Awards will air on Monday, September 17, so the nominees have plenty of time to celebrate before the big day — and those snubbed will have ample time to recover. Best of luck, Emmy hopefuls!

Here is the full list of 2018 Emmy nominees. Decider will update this list as nominations are announced.
