‘To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before’: Netflix Releases Official Trailer For The Teen Romance

Netflix has just released the official trailer for To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, a teen rom com based on Jenny Han’s bestselling novel of the same name. The movie follows Lara Jean Covey (Lana Condor), a high school girl who lives out her romantic fantasies in elaborate love letters to her many crushes. One day, Lara Jean arrives at school and learns that the letters have been mailed out, meaning that her crushes (and possibly, the whole school) now know her deepest, darkest secrets. Suddenly, Lara Jean’s life spirals out of control, and she has no choice but to swallow her pride and reach out to one of her crushes, Peter (The Fosters‘ Noah Centineo) for help rehabbing her reputation.

The trailer introduces viewers to Lara Jean’s letter-writing habit and her five crushes, all of whom are incredibly different. “My letters are my most secret possessions. I write them when I have a crush so intense, I don’t know what to do,” Lara Jean says. “There are five total. Peter, the most popular guy in school, Kenny from camp, Lucas from homecoming, John Ambrose from Model UN, and Josh, but he’s my sister’s boyfriend.”

When the five letters are mysteriously mailed out, Lara Jean is devastated, but she ultimately realizes that it’s a good thing: the letters force her to come out of her shell — something that her family has been pushing her to do for years — and in the process, she finds her inner confidence. What else would you expect from a teenage romantic comedy?

Joining Condor and Centineo are Pretty Little Liars‘ Janel Parrish as Lara Jean’s older sister Margot and John Corbett as their father. Israel Broussard, Anna Cathcart, Emilija Baranac, Andrew Bachelor, and other up-and-coming stars round out the cast.
