Reese Witherspoon Pegged Meryl Streep With Ice Cream For ‘Big Little Lies’ Season 2

While there are very few details known about the second season of HBO’s Big Little Lies, one thing is for sure: Reese Witherspoon hits Meryl Streep with an ice cream cone. At least, if her viral tweet is to be believed.

After a paparazzi photo surfaced of Witherspoon winding up with what is an absolutely delicious looking ice cream cone, Streep walks unsuspectingly a few yards ahead.

After a Twitter user named Matt used up his prayers on hoping Steep felt that cool, sticky surprise to her back, Witherspoon confirmed she’s MLB material by replying, “No need to pray. I got her !”

From the photo alone, it’s safe to guess Streep won’t be joining Witherspoon’s group of besties on the show, which includes Nicole Kidman and Shailene Woodley. In fact, Streep will be playing Mary Louise Wright, the mother-in-law of Kidman’s character, Celeste. She shows up to find some answers about her son Perry’s (Alexander Skarsgard) gruesome death last season.

According to CBS News, HBO has teased that season two will focus on the “malignancy of lies, the durability of friendships, the fragility of marriage … and, of course, the vicious ferocity of sound parenting.” And also, the destruction of beautiful ice cream cones.
