New Movies On Demand: ‘Deadpool 2,’ ‘Life of the Party,’ ‘Breaking In,’ And More

To quote Glenn Frey, the heat is on! I mean, literally, it’s really hot. It’s possibly even hotter than Beverly Hills Cop, the film Mr. Frey was celebrating in verse. But you know there’s one way to keep cool: watching new movies on VOD services in the comfort of your own home. Crank up the AC, sit back in your recliner, and catch up on all the 2018 releases you missed earlier this year  Whether you use Amazon Video, iTunes, Vudu, or your cable’s on demand service, there are always a lot of new releases out there waiting for you to discover!

You want a double-feature that will deliver laughs and gasps? You can now have just that by renting the Melissa McCarthy comedy Life of the Party and the Gabrielle Union thriller Break In! Yeah, both of them are now available to rent for just a few bucks each. Also available to rent this week is the latest DC animated feature The Death of Superman. If you want something more dramatic, you can rent the psychological thriller Aardvark, which stars Zachary Quinto as the mentally unstable brother of Jon Hamm, and Jenny Slate as the therapist that gets between them.

What else can you buy or rent this week? Find out by taking a look at the collection of R-rated blockbusters, family friendly comedies, and spiritual dramas now available for you to enjoy from the comfort of your very own home!

Deadpool 2

Deadpool is back and he’s Deadpoolier than ever! The sequel to the surprise smash hit of 2016 finds Wade Wilson’s merc with a mouth up against new villains and making unlikely allies. Zazie Beetz stars as one of those allies, the effortlessly lucky badass Domino. Josh Brolin (a.k.a. Thanos) double-dips in the Marvel Universe as the time-traveling mutant soldier Cable. This one’s as weird and wild as the last one, and will be available to rent on August 21.

Show Dogs

On the polar opposite end of Deadpool 2 lies the Show Dogs, a movie that’s… exactly what you think it is. Will Arnett stars as a cop and Chris “Ludacris” Bridges voices his canine companion, a dog that has to go undercover (yes, the dog goes undercover!) in a dog show to expose an animal smuggling ring. When a trailer says “from the director of Beverly Hills Chihuahua,” you know what you’re in for–but hey, the kids will probably love it!
