‘American Horror Story: Apocalypse’: Watch The Full Trailer Here

Bring on the insanity. After weeks of hyping American Horror Story‘s epic upcoming clash between its Murder House and Coven seasons, we finally have a full trailer for American Horror Story: Apocalypse. And let’s just say the end of the world looks delightfully horrifying.

For years we’ve known that every season of American Horror Story has shared a universe. Certain characters, like Twisty the Clown, would pop up from season to season. But Season 8 marks the first time a season has actually revolved around an in-universe crossover. This upcoming installation of the anthology series will combine the Murder House season, which focused on the Harmon family, their band of ghosts, and a newborn baby who is actually the antichrist, and Coven, which follows a group of witches struggling to learn the ropes of their craft and maintain relevance in modern-day America. Fan favorites from both series like Sarah Paulson, Jessica Lange, Evan Peters, Taissa Farmiga, Emma Roberts, Connie Britton, and even Stevie Nicks are all returning to AHS for the end of times.

But the most interesting casting note, aside from the fact that Paulson will reportedly be playing several characters, has to do with an AHS newcomer. Cody Fern, who gained critical attention for his role in The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story, will be playing Michael Langdon. In case you’ve forgotten or forced yourself to forget, Michael is the illegitimate child between the then-human Vivien (Britton) and the ghostly school shooter Tate Langdon (Peters). We got our first look at Michael during a recent teaser trailer, but you can bet you’re going to be seeing a lot more of him.

The trailer starts with AHS’ resident creep Evan Peters saying “There’s no need for the rules anymore. The chaos has won.” While said chaos erupts, Billy Eichner yells at Leslie Grossman over the phone in a moment that perfectly calls back to their sick relationship in last year’s Cult season. It’s beautiful.

The trailer then runs through some apocalyptic mainstays like plane crashes and hazmat suits before unveiling the best gift it could give us — (probably) evil Sarah Paulson. Apparently the whole world outside of gothic Paulson’s bunker has been contaminated by radiation. The lucky few who are allowed to stay can never leave her house and have to listen to her rules. Naturally her rules involve torture, Kathy Bates saying “Hail Satan,” and gorgeous costumes. But don’t worry. Murder House‘s gimp suit does make another appearance.

The whole thing watches like a revenge epic for Paulson. Fro years the incredible actress has spent her time on American Horror Story either screaming or playing some version of a victim. One of her many characters even spent most of the Asylum season trapped in a confined environment and tormented against her will. Guess what? The tables have turned, bitches.

It’s going to be a crazy season. Check out the trailer above and bask in the madness.
