‘Bachelor’ Contestant Amanda Stanton Arrested for Domestic Violence

Fan-favorite Bachelor and Bachelor in Paradise contestant Amanda Stanton has been arrested for domestic violence following an incident in Las Vegas. According to TMZ, Stanton was attending a party on Sunday night with friends and her boyfriend, Bobby Jacobs, when security was called to address a noise complaint. While Jacobs was speaking to the guard, Stanton attempted to intervene, and she shoved Jacobs “hard enough for security to call the cops,” a source close to the situation said. Staton was arrested for battery domestic violence and released Monday.

TMZ reported that both Stanton and Jacobs were drunk at the time of her arrest. Sources told the outlet that the couple — they are reportedly still together — thinks that someone slipped a drug into Stanton’s drink that evening.

Tuesday night, Stanton addressed the domestic violence arrest in a statement from her representative, Steve Honig. “Amanda is embarrassed and ashamed this happened and sincerely apologizes to hotel security and the Las Vegas Police Department,” said the statement. “Amanda is a gentle, respectful person who has never gotten physical with anyone under any circumstance.” Honig assures fans that Stanton meant to give Jacobs a “playful shove,” but he acknowledges that “hotel security did their job and reported the incident to the police, who in turn did their job.”

Stanton is best known for appearing on Season 20 of The Bachelor (Ben Higgins’ season), where she finished fourth. She then went on Bachelor in Paradise Season 3, during which she met Josh Murray, the winner of The Bachelorette Season 10 (And Dorfman’s season). Stanton and Murray left the show engaged, but their relationship didn’t last long, and Stanton returned to Paradise for Season 4.
