**What's his deal?:** EZ is a prospect in the Mayans motorcycle gang. He has long been a victim of cartel violence and wants to get vengeance. He is the protagonist and has only recently joined, after his release from prison.

'Mayans M.C.' Series Finale Ending Explained: Who Survived The War Of The MCs vs. The 'Sons Of Anarchy'?

We’re only a few episodes in and already Mayans M.C. has proven to be one of the craziest dramas on television. If a club brother isn’t betraying his friend one minute then a cartel is making an insane plan or someone is getting tortured. Mayans M.C. didn’t just borrow Sons of Anarchy‘s love of motorcycles. It borrowed its whiplash pace.

But much like with Sons of Anarchy, there’s a deep bench of characters in this new series. All of them are essential to Mayans‘ tale of vengeance and dueling ideologies, and almost all of them are new faces.

Set four years after the events of SOA, Mayans tells the story of EZ (JD Pardo), a young man who had a promising future ahead of him before his run in with the law cost him everything. Now thanks to a deal with the authorities, EZ finds himself out of jail early and with a grudge to pick with the Galindo cartel. The series follows EZ’s induction into the Mayans Motorcycle Club, the Mayans’ shaky alliance with the Galindo cartel, and the Mexican rebel group that threatens to completely change anything. Add in EZ’s complicated relationship with the now-wife of the head of the cartel, and you’ve got a show with a ton of excellent twists and of so many characters to keep track of.

Fans of Sons of Anarchy may have an easier time sorting through Mayans‘ fast-paced world, but everyone can use a refresher from time to time. That’s where we come in.
