At just about the halfway mark in tonight’s Emmy awards, a gorgeous, touching MARRIAGE PROPOSAL took place on stage in a moment that is sure to have you teary.
After winning Directing for a Variety Special for this year’s Oscars, Glenn Weiss took to the stage to begin his acceptance speech, and shocked the world by proposing to his girlfriend, Jan.
Once he revealed that his mother passed away just two weeks ago, he said, “Mom always believed in finding the sunshine in things and she adored my girlfriend Jan.”
To Jan he said, “You wonder why I don’t like to call you my girlfriend, because I want to call you my wife.”
He then pulled out the ring that his father proposed to her with 67 years ago, as a shocked Jan made her way to the stage. Benedict Cumberbatch, Leslie Jones and more stars were just as shocked in the audience as they gasped and stood in amazement. It was a beautiful, special, and unexpected moment that everyone can agree was a real winner and of course she said yes!
One thing was surely confirmed in the moment, this guy really does know how to direct a magical moment.
