Tom Arnold Claims “Apesh*t” Mark Burnett Attacked Him Over Trump Tapes

The Tom ArnoldMark Burnett feud just got even more intense. Last night, the two attended the same pre-Emmys party, and they appear to have gotten into a physical altercation over some Trump tapes. Over the past few months, Arnold has accused Burnett of hiding tapes of President Trump saying the N-word and making insensitive comments during his Apprentice days, and Arnold even has a new show, The Hunt for the Trump Tapes, investigating the matter. Burnett has denied that such tapes exist, and we don’t know what exactly is on the tapes, if they are real, but that didn’t stop the conflict from coming to a head Sunday night on the red carpet.

“Mark Burnett just went apeshit & choked me at this huge Emmy party,” Arnold wrote on Twitter. “Then he ran away with his torn Pink shirt & missing gold chain. I’m waiting for LAPD.” Burnett’s lawyer confirmed that a fight took place and told The Hollywood Reporter that Burnett “attacked” Arnold. However, no report has been filed as of Monday morning, LAPD said.

UPDATE: Deadline reports that Arnold filed a police report against Burnett mid-day Monday. “We can confirm a battery report was made at the West L.A. station. No arrest was made,” an LAPD spokesman said.

Burnett has remained quiet about the incident, but about an hour after Arnold tweeted, Burnett’s wife, actress Roma Downey, posted a photo of her hand and said that Arnold “ambushed” them. “Got this bruise tonight when Tom Arnold tried to ambush my husband Mark and me at a charity event. Is your TV show worth it Tom? Please stop,” she tweeted.

Arnold wasn’t tagged in the tweet, but he fired back almost immediately. “Bullshit. You lie your crazy husband attacked me you psycho,” he wrote. “I’m filing police report & suing you for defamation.” Patton Oswalt later posted a selfie with Arnold to show fans that the “brutal angel” is okay.

Little else is known about the scuffle, but some fans think that it could have been a publicity stunt for The Hunt for the Trump Tapes, which premieres Tuesday on Viceland. In August, Arnold claimed that multiple Apprentice employees confirmed the existence of the Trump tapes, but the president disagreed. He tweeted, “.@MarkBurnettTV called to say that there are NO TAPES of the Apprentice where I used such a terrible and disgusting word … I don’t have that word in my vocabulary, and never have.”
