Woman Crush Wednesday: Busy Philipps Is A Ray of Pure Sunshine

It is Wednesday, my dudes, and that can only mean one thing! It’s Woman Crush Wednesday, and Decider is here to celebrate the one and only Busy Philipps.

WHO’S THAT GAL: Busy Philipps

WHY WE’RE CRUSHING: Busy Philipps is undeniably herself, and we’re so damn grateful for it! Even from her first TV appearance in the late ’90s, we could tell she was a force to be reckoned with. She is a shining beam of sunlight in many areas of her life, whether it be as an actress, author, mom, Instagram story expert, and now, late night talk show host.

However, she’s truly the most candid in her new memoir, This Will Only Hurt A Little. The book travels through the ups and downs of Philipp’s career but our favorite part is her newly conceived “sparkly human” theory. According to Philipps, a “sparkly human” is someone who shines both inside and out. These incredible humans aren’t necessarily famous, but they are always destined for greatness. She even adds that when a person “sparkles,” the world acts positively to them in return. I don’t know about you, but this is definitely a theory I can stand behind.

WHERE YOU’VE SEEN HER BEFORE: If you grew up in the late 1990’s then you’ve definitely seen this gal before. Philipps first appeared as Kim Kelly in the iconic Freaks and Geeks but totally won a place in our hearts a few years later in Dawson’s Creek. This lovely lady is also super well known for her roles as Dr. Hope Bobeck on ER and Laurie Keller in Cougar Town. Since her early TV days, Philipps has also made appearances on the silver screen in He’s Just Not That Into You and Made of Honor. And most recently she appeared in Amy Schumer’s latest flick, I Feel Pretty.

WHERE YOU’LL SEE HER AGAIN: Lucky you, because you don’t have to wait too long for her next TV appearance. As of October 28th, Philipps’ new nightly talk show, Busy Tonight, will be airing new episodes every Sunday through Wednesday night at 10 PM on E!
