Another new season of The Great British Baking Show (a.k.a. The Great British Bake-Off in the U.K.) added to Netflix means another new batch of Great British Baking Boyfriends to choose from. And into that proud fraternity, we’re introducing season 6 (season 9 in the U.K.) stunner Antony Amourdoux, the banker by day, hottie home baker by night.
One of the most wonderful things about GBBS is that the show’s much-celebrated pervasive pleasantness means that you’re pretty safe in picking a fantasy boyfriend for the season without having to worry that he’ll turn into some dastardly villain by season’s end (we call that phenomenon the Big Brother Certainty). Past British Baking Boyfriends have often been some of the best bakers in show history, from Steven Carter-Bailey on season 8 to baby-faced Andrew Smyth to the forever dreamy Tamal Ray.
Antony picks up that torch with ease. He looks like he was chiseled out of the side of a mountain, for one. We don’t know what has better structure: his bread creations or that strong jawline of his. Born in Bengalaru, India, Antony was introduced to the show as a Bollywood fanatic, even showing host Sandi Toksvig a bit of a dancing lesson:
For Antony, whose Great British Bake-Off heavy Instagram is full of pics of him alongside both his bakes and his Baking Show co-stars, the baking has been a side-hustle, which is almost unbelievable to imagine. His day job is as a banker, and it certainly seems like that’s been working out well for him, if this aside about his wedding gift for his brother is any indication:
Antony’s also branded himself with the hashtag #theBollywoodbaker, so the guy is definitely savvy to the branding he needs to be doing to capitalize on his recent TV fame.
