Jeff Bridges and Gil Birmingham in 'Hell or High Water' — ***Hell or High Water***

David Mackenzie's 2016 Western follows two brothers (Chris Pine and Ben Foster) who rob a series of banks in order to save their family's Texas ranch. But of course there's no Western without a sheriff: the brothers are being pursued by two Texas Rangers (Jeff Bridges and Gil Birmingham) who are hot on the thieves' heels. *Hell or High Water* went on to be nominated for four Oscars, including Best Picture, so if you're looking for a critically-acclaimed drama to watch this month, Mackenzie's film is the one for you.

Terry Jones and Connie Booth in 'Monty Python and the Holy Grail' — ***Monty Python and the Holy Grail***

Monty Python's best-known film makes its Netflix debut in January. Set in 932 AD, *Monty Python and the Holy Grail* follows King Arthur as he travels around the kingdom looking for men to join the Knights of the Round table. The men quickly run into God, who tasks Arthur with finding the Holy Grail. Finding the Holy Grail doesn't exactly go as planned, but it's pretty damn hilarious watching the group along the way.

Ellie Kemper in 'Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt' Season 4 — ***Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt: Season 4, Part 2***

Much to fans' dismay, Tina Fey's *Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt* is coming to an end. How will the final six episodes wrap up Kimmy (Ellie Kemper), Titus (Tituss Burgess), Jacqueline (Jane Krakowski), Lillian (Carol Kane), and Mimi Kanasis' (Amy Sedaris) storylines? Harrison Ford in 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' — ***Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark***

All four *Indiana Jones* movies are coming to Netflix in January, the best of which (according to Rotten Tomatoes, at least), is *Raiders of the Lost Ark*. The first *Indiana Jones* film, which premiered in 1981, follows Harrison Ford as he battles a group of Nazis searching for the Ark of the Covenant, which the Nazis believe will make them invincible. *Raiders of the Lost Ark* kicked off a massive franchise and catapulted Ford into superstardom; what better way to pay homage to that legacy than by streaming it on Netflix?

Sergi Lopez in 'Pan's Labyrinth' — ***Pan's Labyrinth***

Before cleaning up at the Oscars with *The Shape of Water*, director Guillermo del Toro put his stamp on another Oscar-nominated flick, *Pan's Labyrinth*. The Spanish-language film follows a young woman, Ofelia, in 1940s Spain who is drawn into a fantasy world inhabited by mythical creatures. As Ofelia's home life becomes increasingly hostile, she immerses herself further into the magical realm, and soon, she becomes obsessed with leaving the real world behind for good.

Elastagirl 'Incredibles 2' — ***Incredibles 2***

It took 14 years to get a sequel to *The Incredibles*, but boy, it sure lived up to the hype. In *Incredibles 2*, the crime-fighting family is back to wage a war against the public's perception of superheroes. At the suggestion of their new, wealthy backers, Elastigirl (Holly Hunter), gets some new gadgets and a makeover, and her husband Bob (Craig T. Nelson) takes on Dad Duties. But it's not long before thing spiral out of control -- on all fronts -- forcing the family to confront their deadliest mission yet.

John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson in 'Pulp Fiction' — ***Pulp Fiction***

Quentin Tarantino's non-linear crime masterpiece comes to Netflix this month to cure you of your post-holiday blues. While watching Samuel L. Jackson and John Travolta eat a man's fast food in the world's most threatening way may not make you feel better about being in the heart of winter, *Pulp Fiction* will surely distract you from reality for its entire 154-minute run time.

Christian Bale in 'The Dark Knight' — ***The Dark Knight***

Christopher Nolan's second film in *The Dark Knight* trilogy proved to be even more successful than the first. *The Dark Knight* follows Batman (Christian Bale) as he forms an alliance with Lieutenant Jim Gordon (Gary Oldman) and District Attorney Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart) to protect Gotham. However, the Joker (Heath Ledger) remains committed to terrorizing the city, and soon, the men find themselves increasingly wrapped up in his evil plan. Nolan's second film introduces fans to the origins of Two-Face, reveals Rachel Dawes' (Maggie Gyllenhaal) fate, and more, making it a must-see installment in the franchise -- and really, just in general.

Allison Williams drives a car in 'A Series of Unfortunate Events' Season 3 — *A Series of Unfortunate Events*: Season 3

All good (or in this case, bad) things must come to an end. The third and final season of Netflix Original *A Series of Unfortunate Events* hits Netflix this month, and it promises appearances from Allison Williams and Max Greenfield, new settings, and a very, very bad Count Olaf (Neil Patrick Harris). Will the Baudelaire children be able to escape Olaf's clutches once and for all? That's up to Lemony Snicket.

'City of God' group — ***City of God***
Rotten Tomatoes Score: 91%
Fernando Meirelles' 2002 action-drama charts the rise of two young men as they navigate the drug-filled world of Rio de Janiero. The story is told from the perspective of Buscape, a young photographer who captures the brutal drug war on camera -- a talent which he soon realizes may provide his only means of escaping the never-ending gang violence.

Jack Nicholson and Matt Damon in 'The Departed' — ***The Departed***

Martin Scorsese's 2006 cop drama is one you won't want to miss. Leonardo DiCaprio stars as Billy Costigan, a young cop who finally gets his shot when he goes undercover with a local crime syndicate. As he encounters various shady figures and learns that there may be a mole in the department, he realizes he's bitten off way more than he can chew. With an A-list cast including Matt Damon, Jack Nicholson, and more, *The Departed* is truly a film for the ages.

Evangeline Lilly and Paul Rudd in 'Ant-Man and the Wasp' — ***Ant-Man and the Wasp***

Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly are back in *Ant-Man and the Wasp*, Marvel's second high-profile film of 2018. In the new installment, Rudd's Scott Lang and Lilly's high-flying Wasp reunite in order to save Wasp's mom, Janet van Dyne, from the quantum realm. *Ant-Man and the Wasp* is the final Marvel film to hit Netflix (future films will go to Disney's streaming service), so be sure to get it while it's hot!

Edgar Ramirez and Penelope Cruz in 'American Crime Story: The Assassination of Gianni Versace' — ***The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story***

There's a reason *The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story* won all those Emmys: it's awesome. The second season of Ryan Murphy's anthology was meant to simply cover Gianni Versace's death, but it ended up doing so much more. Thanks largely to Darren Criss' Andrew Cunanan, Murphy and Co. were able to deftly portray the homophobia of the 1990s (both internal and external) with striking visuals, devastating stories, and shocking visual choices. If you binge-watch just one show this January, make it *Versace*.

Harrison Ford and Sean Connery in 'Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade' — ***Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade***
Rotten Tomatoes Score: 88%
Mo' Nazis, mo' problems. In the third *Indiana Jones* film, our hero searches far and wide for his father (Sean Connery), a Holy Grail scholar who has been kidnapped by Nazis. *The Last Crusade* is a fitting end to the franchise's early days, and it provides a great jumping off point for the most recent flick, *Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull* (also on Netflix this month). And while you're here, pour one out for the second film, *Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom*, which, at 85% Fresh, narrowly missed a spot on this list.

This month, your favorite streaming platform is dishing up so many critically-acclaimed movies and shows it’ll make your head spin. Amid all that great content, it can be difficult to know what exactly to stream. That’s where we come in. We’ve searched through all of Netflix’s January offerings and found the top-rated titles hitting your screen this month.

This January, Netflix is bringing you Oscar-worthy movies galore with hits like Hell or High Water, Pulp Fiction, and The Dark Knight. Feeling something a little more adventurous? All four Indiana Jones movies are hitting Netflix this month, so there will be plenty of Nazi-hunting Harrison Ford in your future. Looking for something a bit more family-friendly? It took over 10 years, but The Incredibles finally has a sequel, and it will be available to stream on January 30.

If you’re in the mood for a longer binge-watch, Netflix has you covered, as well. The final seasons of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and A Series of Unfortunate Events hit the streaming giant this month, and the Emmy-winning The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story joins Netflix’s vast library on January 17.
