Sometimes when you’re an actor, getting down and dirty is just part of the job description. Sometimes a sex scene is integral to the plot and sometimes it’s just a frisky bonus thrown to the audience. There are a lot of reasons why a sex scene happens in a movie and there are a lot of different kinds of sex scenes–and there are some actors that just love doing a lot of sex scenes.

But which actors have spent the most time doing a little simulated bump and grind? Which ones have regularly stripped down and gotten busy for the cameras? To figure this out, we compiled a sexy database (those two words have never been put side-by-side) documenting over 200 of film history’s most outrageous, passionate, groundbreaking, frightening, and/or romantic sex scenes and kept track of who has fake-boned who (although the boning actually wasn’t always fake). After looking at the stats and crunching the numbers (oh, so sexy), we’ve come up with a top 10 list of the most frequent love-makers in pop culture history, the ones who won’t turn down the opportunity to advance a plot by doing the deed.

Before we get to the top ten, though, honorable mentions are owed to Patrick Swayze, Kate Winslet, Rebecca De Mornay, Richard Gere, and Willem Dafoe who all just missed the cut. Still, the top ten seen above know how to party.
