Marie Kondo Is at the Oscars: Will She Clean the Mess?

To say that this year’s Academy Awards have been a mess would be, uh, an understatement. First there was the whole host fiasco, where homophobic tweets from Kevin Hart’s past caused the Academy to distance themselves from their selected host (his whole “I already apologized for all that!” reaction certainly didn’t help). Then there were the nominees, as highly polarizing films like Green Book and Bohemian Rhapsody lit Twitter up in a raging fire of hot takes. And then there was the Academy’s flirtation with airing the cinematography and editing awards during a commercial break. That caused an uproar in Hollywood and they reversed that decision quickly.

So yeah, with the Oscars basically being a dumpster show ahead of tonight, of course 2019’s reigning queen of clean would get an invite! Enter: Marie Kondo!

The host of Netflix’s hit reality show Tidying Up with Marie Kondo took to the red carpet, and fans took notice. Why was a streaming service reality show host at the Oscars to begin with? It makes sense:

The tweets didn’t stop there. You can apply the KonMari method to red carpet lewks!

But you better believe Marie Kondo popping up on the red carpet means tonight might not be the mess we all expect.
