Lady Gaga Describes Her Oscars Performance with Bradley Cooper: "People Saw Love, and That's What We Wanted You to See"
The biggest red carpet trend at the 2019 Oscars had nothing to do with Vogue, and everything to do with Villanelle from Killing Eve. Country superstar Kacey Musgraves, Crazy Rich Asians stand out Gemma Chan, and Green Book star Linda Cardellini all showed up in big, dreamy, candy floss pink gowns that looked almost exactly like Villanelle’s famous pink therapy dress from Killing Eve Season 1.
Now it should be said that pink in general seems to be a big fashion trend at this year’s Academy Awards. Angela Bassett, Helen Mirren, Sarah Paulson, and Maya Rudolph are all also wearing bright pink numbers full of volume and sass. However, Musgraves, Chan, and Cardellini look straight out of Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s popular crime hit. So much so, that it’s the chatter on twitter.
Killing Eve‘s fashion has been a major talking point, but this seems beyond for the BBC America show. Not only has the series made a major impact in pop culture, but now Hollywood is taking style notes from Jodie Comer’s seductive serial killer character. Early photos of Killing Eve Season 2 reveal that Villanelle will be swapping the pink poof dress for some tight pop art pajamas. Does this mean we’ll be seeing some “Pow!” on the carpet next year? We’ll have to wait and see.
